Why a monthly platform fee per room?
The R.A.M. (Room Access Management) platform is what makes a Work& room compliant, anonymous, and reportable. Per-room pricing keeps unit economics consistent whether you have one room or twenty, and includes ongoing support, updates, and admin dashboard access.
Does Work& qualify as a tenant improvement (TI)?
In most cases, yes. Work& room builds typically qualify for tenant improvement allowances through your landlord — which can fully offset the one-time setup cost. We have direct relationships with most major CRE landlords (Brookfield, Jamestown, Hines, Vornado, and others) and can help navigate the conversation. Bring it up in your consultation.
Can we start with one room and expand?
Absolutely — and most clients do. The pricing structure supports phased rollouts with consistent per-room economics, so you'll never get penalized for starting small. Volume pricing automatically applies at 2+ rooms.
What if we already have a room — just need access and booking?
Work& can upgrade an existing space with smart access control, anonymous booking, and compliance equipment without a full buildout. This is a common starting point for CRE properties and offices that previously cobbled together a converted closet.
Is employee usage truly anonymous?
Yes — by design. Individual employee booking history is never visible to HR, managers, or facilities. Admins see aggregate utilization data only. Anonymity is what makes the room get used, and it's a non-negotiable part of how R.A.M. is built.
What's the difference between a POD and a retrofit?
A retrofit converts an existing room into a Work& space with smart access and full outfitting. A POD is a freestanding, fully enclosed booth that ships pre-furnished — no construction required. PODs are ideal for offices without spare rooms, multi-site rollouts, or pilots. Both run on the same R.A.M. platform.
How long does deployment take?
A typical existing-room upgrade goes live in 4–6 weeks from contract. A full buildout runs 8–12 weeks depending on contractor schedules. PODs ship and install in 6–10 weeks. We coordinate the full timeline and don't require IT lift on your side.
